9th ESST/VDZ Conference

The 9th ESST/VDZ Conference & Exhibition successfully concluded on 13 May 2026 in Lübeck, Germany.

Hosted at the MuK Congress Centre of the Hanse town, the event welcomed 470 participants from 28 countries and 4 continents. It featured 50 exhibitors, making it the second largest ESST/VDZ Conference & Exhibition to date.

A total of 24 sugar companies and representatives from 160 companies attended the conference, underscoring the strong international engagement and the event’s importance to the sugar industry.

The conference was officially opened on 10 May by the presidents of the two organizing societies, Pascal Hamon (ESST) and Harald Powitz (VDZ). The scientific and technical program included 30 presentations, 6 short presentations, and 10 posters, covering a broad range of current industry topics.

From decarbonization and beet quality to AI applications and process optimization, the conference demonstrated the rapid transformation and innovation shaping our industry today.
